Born in 1962 in Maceió - AL, Bruno Rodrigues had as musical
formation the bands where he passed. After forming in artistic education
with specialization in music, he came to Rio de Janeiro and entered in the
period of 84/85, as trombonist in O.S.B. (Brazilian Symphony Orchestra).
Expert and talented, he studied in the decade of 80, regency with renowned teachers, among them the great Maestro David Machado. As trombonist, marked presence in the most renowned orchestras of Rio de Janeiro, however it was in September of 1990, that Bruno Rodrigues decided to create his musical family, denominated Orchestra Tupy, inaugurating in the Sunday in Circo Voador - RJ. |

Composed by 28 musicians and singers of first quality, with more six support technicians, the Orchestra Tupy entered in the market to please the followers and consumers of Big-Bands; and the youth Maestro's regencies makes the Orchestra Tupy the more coveted and record breaker of dances in Brazil, being considered by artistic entrepreneurs from south america, as one of the best Big-Bands of the world in the moment. |

This whole success comes from the Maestro's harmony with the components of Big-Band, whose quality is the
key word in their shows, beginning with the meticulous repertoire
selection, depending on the event type, that is going from the forties to
the 2000, passing from the golden years to the rock’roll, from the swing
(Glenn Miller - Ray Connif) to the samba reggae, from the bolero to the
salsa, from the mambo to the chá-chá-chá, from the pagode to the samba
, including the largest successes of dance music, pop and reggae, playing
everything: from Beatles to Skank, including a vast repertoire of Jewish
music (accomplishing barmizvah and religious marriage), Italian and Spanish
music, also playing themes of current soap operas. All this accompanied of
a great sound team and illumination, unassuming the fine clothes selected
for each show, where the own maestro doesn't give up the final touch,
including now a fantastic pyrotechnic show .
After countless requisitions it came to the market in the middles of 1993 the first LP produced and directed by Bruno Rodrigues, and in 1996 the new CD was released, with show of successes, the mark of 102.000 sold copies reached the Gold Disk! In November of 97 the CD "Ritmos Latinos" was released being therefore Orchestra Tupy's newest release. With this second CD it also came the second Gold Disk. The talent of this Big-Band soon was recognized by clubs, associations, magazines, newspapers and for the public power, whose prizes total 140 was conquered only in the first eight years of activities. For everything this, we advised to all of the people of good taste to hear and dance with this great orchestra that promises to "balance" the non followers of Big-Bands, whose own style was consecrated by the graduation dances events, by dancers, by leaders of clubs and by the critic of radio, newspaper and television as the best and more awarded Orchestra of Dances of Brazil and of Latin America. |
